Select Specialty Products was founded by the Housdan family in 1983. They began their company with a few product samples, excellent knowledge of their industry and an absolute determination to succeed. Not only did they have a deep understanding of both the chemical industry and the products they wanted to sell, but they also understood that customer loyalty was the key to a thriving business. Dennis and Stephanie Housdan knew that if they could deliver quality products that served their customers' needs and deliver them in a timely manner that their first customers would become long-term customers. With this in mind, they began the challenging task of founding a successful business.

Today, Select has expanded to service customers in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, North and South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.

There are many reasons why Select has expanded so rapidly and successfully. For one, neither the Housdan's nor their employees ever lost sight of the fact that neither company size nor the number of customers a company has can ever replace the value of the relationship between our team and our customers. In order to best serve our customers, we have continually evolved our product line in order to be sure that we meet all of our customers' needs. We have expanded our chemical sales to include fasteners, lighting, specialty absorbents and safety products.

Select also strives to keep pace with the need for alternative solutions to traditional problems. For example, we were one of the first companies to market natural solvents and degreasers. The rest of the industrial sanitary supply industry didn't catch on until 1988! Select was also one of the first companies to explore enzymes as a means of mitigating industrial and biological waste. We have since extended that concept to include powders, liquids and combinations thereof intended for specialized tasks. Select's customer base is very diverse. Our customers range from small businesses to industrial giants. This includes municipal, state and federal government agencies to kindergartens and daycare centers to colleges and universities.
